Melanie is an ocean lover and is always down for a day at the beach! She loves music and dancing, and enjoys learning new songs on her guitar and ukulele. She comes from the Great North, Land of Snow (also known as Canada) who always dreamed of one day living by the sea. Growing up in Montréal introduced her to many different cultures and languages, where she learned both French and Spanish. She earned her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Ottawa. Now, she is excited to be living in California and to learn to surf.
With both her mother and godparents being OTs, Melanie was raised in the OT world. As a young girl, she always thought her Mom was so lucky to get to “play all day” and “make cookies” with her patients. Today, having worked across many different OT settings, Melanie knows that there is always more to learn about both her clients and herself. She always aims to incorporate new and exciting strategies into her work to make her sessions motivating for her clients. She found OT to be a profession where you can truly support someone’s journey in reaching their full potential.
